Meet our GI JOE frendz!!

Sunday, April 20, 2008

Ugh! I missed it! Pictures of the whole casts leaked last week on some websites and I was just able to grab this photo of Channing before the studio pulled them out!! I guess they are just planning to release these photos one by one.

Aside from Channing who would play Duke, pictures of Marlon Wayans (as Ripcord), Karolina Kurkova (as Cover Girl), Sienna Miller (as Baroness), and Dennis Quaid (as Hawk) made shimmering nano-seconds of appearances on the world wide web. Pictures of Ray Park (as Snake Eyes) and Rachel Nichols (as Scarlett) were released few weeks ago. See photos below

As far as the storyline goes, it was revealed that the story would most likely revolve around Scarlett’s and Baroness’s lablayp. Director Stephen Sommers revealed that the movie would explore the origin story of some of the characters. Well, they have more than a year to finish this movie and a lot of changes could happen.

Gi Joe would be blasting the screen August 7 of 2009.

Seems like we would be having another X-MEN disaster looking at these costumes. Why do they keep on using spandex and leather??? I’m sorry,… but those humps doesnt help at all.. heheheh… I think its is cooler seeing them in their colored costumes. Poor! poor! poor! Boring, not sleek enough for me!!

They should at least respect the fact that I watched GI JOE back then because Duke wears orange (I know its a tnagerine shade of brown, but if there’s any consolation, just agree with me that it’s almost orange)

What I am also excited about is seeing Lee Byung-hun  as Storm Shadow (we’ll just be seeing his eyes if they follow the original costume) . Korean actors are in demand in Hollywood lately. After Rain’s Hollywood breakthrough performance in Speed Racer, Byun is about to make waves on this movie. I have seen him in a number of Korean films and he is good.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt would also be on the film. He was awesome in Brick and that was the last time I saw him. I heard he would be playing dual roles here.

See cast listing below.

G.I. Joe

  • Channing Tatum as First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser / Duke: The lead soldier

  • Dennis Quaid as General Clayton M. Abernathy / Hawk: The team leader.

  • Saïd Taghmaoui as Alvin R. Kibbey / Breaker: The team’s communications specialist.

  • Karolína Kurková as Courtney A. Kreiger / Cover Girl: Hawk’s aide-de-camp.

Cobra

  • Christopher Eccleston as James McCullen Destro XXIV: The main villain.

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Cobra Commander: Destro’s shadowy, masked boss.

Serious?

This would be my favorite Dark Knight poster! I dont know if this was banned by WB for distribution or use, but I havent seen this poster in any mall here at the metro.Di ko lng alam kung sa probinsya ginagamit nila hehehehe ….

It has been pretty obvious that the promotional campaign for the Dark Knight focused on Harvey Dent’s character right after Heath Ledger’s early passing. But I guess it’s not fair. I guess people should be aware of Heath’s performance on this movie. Knowing Heath (oh yes close kami! as in super tight! magkatabi kami matulog at sabay kami tinuli!), I think he wont mind at all… echos!!!

I am still excited to see the film, not to see Christian Bale in a muscle suit (I’d rather watch American Psycho again and see him naked heheheh), but of course see Heath in his last movie. Magdadala akong kandila tsaka flowers..huhuhuh…

More ideas please?

Mortal Combat vs DC?

Is that supposed to be cool? I have no idea! I guess i have no enough male hormones to judge. Heheheh …

And how could this possibly happen? I guess I should still be thankful since this collaboration could only happen in the world of video games, meaning… di ako affected…di ako kasali sa coverage area!!! heheheheh !!!

Yes and it was already confirmed. I saw the teaser on YOUTUBE released by Media Games. It shows Sub-Zero and Batman doing what they are good at … fighting and saving the world, their ego or whatever…heheheh ….

I wish they could also think of BARBIE and Friend vs BRATZ, or QUEER as FOLKS versus the GIRLS FROM L. I am also thinking of ARCHIE and FRIENDS versus THE TGIS Barkada. That would be good! Betty vs Angelu de Leon! Wahahahahahahah

A tale of 2 sisters again!

Remember this movie?

I wont spoil the ending for those who haven’t seen it. If I could remember it right, this was released in theaters here in the Philippines last 2003. The film was painfully slow. It was terribly paced and was neurotically deceiving. We watched it sa Dorm packed with blankets and we even turned the lights off ready for the scare. We were hoping so much (kasagsagan kasi ng Asian Horror films), and lot of us were disappointed for not getting the goosebumps that we expected. But aside from the turtle fast screenplay, I have no bad blood for the movie. The ending was perfectly executed and I didnt see it coming at all.

Now! This film would be joining the list of films like The Grudge, The Eye, Shutter, Darkwater and our very own of Sigaw.  It would now have its very own Hollywood version (I have high hopes for the film SIGAW since unlike the rest on the list, it would still be directed by the original Filipino director, YAM LARANAS). I am just hoping that this would turn out good. Hollywood has that hobby of making the story their own, leaving it messy and undeniably nakakabobo… in english … nakaka-dumb (hehehehe)!!!

Please welcome… Hollywood’s version of The Tale of Two Sisters!!!

I dont know why, but they also changed the title to "The Uninvited"! One good thing though, is that they were able to consider the main element in casting the 2 main characters. Playing the lead roles would be Arielle Kebbel as the older sister and Emily Browning ( I love her lips, it’s effortlessly soooo Angelina Jolie) as the younger one. Both sisters need to be pretty and innocent looking and I guess the 2 actresses are suited to that.

I am just hoping that they would be able to match the cinematography of the Korean version. For me, the Korean version was a visual feast. A lot of scenes were beautifully shot. A good contrast between staggerring emotions were executed. Your eyes would be treated by innocent lovely shots for you not to expect the thrills and the horrors that are about to come on the following scenes. The mystery was established that way and the trick was played really good. I wish that Hollywood would respect the Asian material.Let’s just hope that this wont be another tale forgotten.
