The grinch who stole valentines!!

Friday, February 16, 2007

I would just have to blurt this thought out between Nicole Kidman's and Jennifer Garner's dashing photos!!!

It's really difficult to escape the Valentine fever!! I had those days where Valentines was worth celebrating, but I am now at a stage where I wish that it didnt exist! If I could change mythology, I would certainly take Cupid's character out!! Hrrrmmmmphhh!!! So bitter!!!

I would like to share Tin C's annoyance with this season! Flowers became so expensive and they need a bunch of it for her mother's burial!! You cant just go ahead and ask for a discount by specifying that you are not buying flowers for the same reason as everybody else!!

Are humans programmed to be incredibly sweet with their partners for this date!? Well, maybe it works the same with Christmas, where the majority of the Human Race prefer being nice!!!  But I just hate it! And it is all because of the simple selfish reason that I only have my pillow to cuddle last Valentines Day!!!

While most of the population are kissing, hugging  and doing everything else that could be described intimate, I was actually asleep, trying to save the world, joining the cast of Heroes in search for the cheerleader!! Tired of thinking what the next 20 days would be without any money!!! I cant even buy a bar of Cloud9 to treat myself with sweets!!! Aaaaarghhhhhh!!!

I once said that without money, I always feel ugly!!! Last v-day, not having a penny makes me feel cursed!!!!! Huhuhuhu!!! Anyway let me just try to say that Nicole Kidman is nothing less than Fabulous in that cover shoot with Vogue!!! Metallics and Gold would be such a hit for this season/year and so would be Nicole Kidman!!! She has a great line-up of movies for this year and I am quite sure that things would go well between her and his hubby's alcohol problem!!! I am actually betting that Keith Urban would get through rehab successfully!! I do think that they are really in love with each other and that is enough for Urban to change. Yuch… there it comes again … the "for the sake of their love" thingy!!! Such a cliche isnt it!!! such a cliche!!! wish I could say it someday without feeling bitter!

Jenniffer Garner's shoot with Elle is also stunning!!! By the looks of it, she is certainly wearing a Vera Wang!!! Garner, now in a happy relationship with Affleck , just completed "Catch and Release". i dont have the exact date for the Philippine showing!! ben affleck has been thorugh several relationships and so far Garner cuddled in his arms the longest!!! Hmmmm…. Love? or the Axe effect? hehehh

The Phillippines broke the record with the just concluded lovapalooza!!! Sogo Motels had incredible increase in profit last V-Day with significant increase in customers lodging in! Italy and Mexico rejoiced as a mass of gay couples kissed in public, with their campaign for same-sex marriages!!! Quickies are now not allowed in motels and the authority had time to even care about it! Cupid passed by our neighborhood and too bad he didnt knock on my door!! I was not informed to post a heart or tie a red ribbon on our door knob! I finished the first 9 episodes of Heroes that night and slept!!! Cruel world!!

John Amaechi vs. Hardaway

I am not a Basketball fan, and I had a hard time trying to remember who that basketball player was who just came out of the closet! Hoy Marcy! Eto na yung article tungkol sa chinichika ko sa'yo!!!

He is not a top, he is not a bottom as well!!! Gustoo niyang nas gitna!!! hehehh!!! Joke!!! Pero seriously, I am so happy for this guy!! I know that it was very difficult for him to come out given that a lot of people might be devastated!! Well, I am quite sure that he had a lot of fun while playin in the NBA!! I am quite sure that the locker room is a happy place!! As what I have said, I am not a basketball fan and I dont know who this freakin Hardaway is who keeps on saying harsh statements for Amaechi's coming out! Here is the article copied from Towleroad.com

"I believe very strongly in the responsibility of people with power and influence to be role models. Living more openly in the later years of my NBA career was one of the things that radically changed my life. It made me happier. I want to spread my influence in the same way that I was able to because I had a basketball in my hand. I hope now to have perhaps a different lectern to stand behind but with an equally important message.

Hardaway made the comments to a radio host Wednesday, when asked about Amaechi's recent disclosure that he is gay. Said Hardaway: "First of all I wouldn't want him on my team. Second of all, if he was on my team I would really distance myself from him because I don't think that's right and I don't think he should be in the locker room while we're in the locker room…Well, you know, I hate gay people. I let it be known, I don't like gay people. I don't like to be around gay people…Yeah, I'm homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world, or in the United States. So, yeah, I don't like it."

Amaechi replied "His words pollute the atmosphere. It creates an atmosphere that allows young gays and lesbians to be harassed in school, creates an atmosphere where in 33 states you can lose your job, and where anti-gay and lesbian issues are used for political gain. It's an atmosphere that hurts all of us, not just gay people. Famously, they're saying in 2007 that homophobia is not an issue. While (Hardaway) is not a representative of the NBA or of straight men, there's no point pretending it's not an opinion that is out there."

Amaechi also spoke to Dan Le Batarad (the host of the show on which Hardaway spewed his hate) at the Miami Herald on Wednesday evening saying that Hardaway's comments open a window into what gay athletes may have to face in professional sports. Said Amaechi: "I'm actually tempted to laugh. Finally, someone who is honest. It is ridiculous, absurd, petty, bigoted and shows a lack of empathy that is gargantuan and unfathomable. But it is honest. And it illustrates the problem better than any of the fuzzy language other people have used so far.''

The Human Rights Campaign announced yesterday that Amaechi would serve as a spokesperson for HRC's Coming Out Project, a program that helps gay men and women come out and live openly.

Amaechi's announcement has been met with reactions from coaches and players in pro basketball. Most have reacted with something of a shrug, though billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban said that a current NBA star who decides to come out would make bank.

Dallas Mavericks owner Cuban told the Fort Worth Star Telegram: "From a marketing perspective, if you're a player who happens to be gay and you want to be incredibly rich, then you should come out, because it would be the best thing that ever happened to you from a marketing and an endorsement perspective. You would be an absolute hero to more Americans than you can ever possibly be as an athlete, and that'll put money in your pocket. On the flip side, if you're the idiot who condemns somebody because they're gay, then you're going to be ostracized, you're going to be picketed and you're going to ruin whatever marketing endorsements you have…When you do something that the whole world thinks is difficult and you stand up and just be who you are and take on that difficulty factor, you're an American hero no matter what. That's what the American spirit's all about, going against the grain and standing up for who you are, even if it's not a popular position…It's got to be somebody who's strong-willed. He'll put up with some grief. But at the same time, I don't want to compare him to Jackie Robinson, but it's the analogy in a lot of ways. He becomes a role model.

And here are a few of the other reactions from around the league:

Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, whom Amaechi has accused of using anti-gay remarks in reference to him: "Oh yeah, it would have probably mattered. I don't know exactly, but I always have peoples' feelings at heart. People do what they want to do. I don't have a problem with that."

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James: "With teammates you have to be trustworthy and if you're gay and you're not admitting that you are, then you are not trustworthy. So that's like the No. 1 thing as teammates - we all trust each other. You've heard of the in-room, locker-room code. What happens in the locker-room stays in there. It's a trust factor, honestly. A big trust factor."

Orlando Magic player Grant Hill: "The fact that John has done this, maybe it will give others the comfort or confidence to come out as well, whether they are playing or retiring."

NBA Commissioner David Stern: "We have a very diverse league. The question at the NBA is always: 'Have you got game?' That's it, end of inquiry."

Philadelphia Sixers forward Shavlik Randolph: "As long as you don't bring your gayness on me, I'm fine. As far as business-wise, I'm sure I could play with him. But I think it would create a little awkwardness in the locker room."

Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell: "It's really a difficult thing to do, knowing the nature of sports and being in that locker room, it could be tough. I think it wouldn't be a lot of guys, but there would always be one or two on a team (who wouldn't approve)."

Philadelphia 76ers center-forward Steven Hunter:  "For real? He's gay for real? Nowadays, it's proven that people can live double lives. I watch a lot of TV, so I see a lot of sick, perverted stuff about married men running around with gay guys and all types of foolishness. As long as he don't make any advances toward me, I'm fine with it. As long as he came to play basketball like a man and conducted himself like a good person, I'd be fine with it."

Celtics coach Doc Rivers: "I think if he would have come out, they would have got on him jokingly. … And I actually think that when guys do come out, when that day happens, it will make it easier."
